There are many differences between the education system in China and that in western countries. These pages attempt  to give an idea of the reality of the Chinese system and what it is like to work within it. Please use the links above to navigate through the pages.

Apart from the Chinese Education System page, which describes the full education system, most of the information here relates to higher education, in which most foreign teachers are employed.

We apologise for any generalisations made in these pages, but with such a highly centralised system, generalisations tend more often than not to hold. There are obviously exceptions to almost everything we say here.

As ever, we welcome your comments on the content of these pages. Please contact us..
